Kerberos authentication from the management console

When Microsoft Active Directory (AD) serves as the KDC in your cluster, log on to your cluster as AD users from the cluster management console.

Procedure

  • Log on as the Admin user and enter the password of the Kerberos principal mapped to the Admin user, as defined in the KERBEROS_ADMIN parameter.

For example, to log on as the egoadmin user (with password passwordegoadmin):

    1. On the cluster management console login page, enter Admin as the User Name and enter passwordegoadmin as the Password.
    2. Run the symping application to test workload. See Testing the cluster with Symping.
  • Log on as an AD user who is assigned permissions to run commands or run applications. Ensure that you enter the domain of the user in the format domain\user; the user domain is required for all users except Admin.

For example, to log on as user ad1tester in domain AD1.COM (with password passwordad1tester):

    1. On the cluster management console login page, enter AD1.COM\ad1tester as the User Name and enter passwordad1tester as the Password.
    2. Run the symping application to test workload. See Testing the cluster with Symping.
