Recursive workload
The IBM® Spectrum Symphony recursive workload feature allows continuous workflow on a single application so that resources are fully utilized. For example, a parent task may depend on data that results from a child task. The parent task can temporarily yield its resources (such as its slots) to allow the child task to use the slots to complete jobs. This way, resources are fully utilized while the parent task waits for the results from child sessions. The parent task can later regain the resource. This feature is supported on all platforms supported by IBM Spectrum Symphony Advanced Edition.
Viewing information about recursive workload using the command line
From the command line, use the soamview command to view information about recursive workload.
Viewing information about recursive workload using the cluster management console
From the cluster management console, view recursive workload information for child or parent sessions, yielded or resuming tasks, and resource usage among the child tasks.
