Adding time intervals to multidimensional resource plans

Time-based configuration in the resource plan allows the resource distribution for a consumer to change according to the time of day. Time intervals exist across resource groups throughout the tree. No time gaps are allowed in the resource plan.

Before you begin

  • You must create at least one consumer before you can modify the time interval for a multidimensional resource plan.
  • You must be a cluster administrator, or have permissions for the parent consumer of the consumer for which you want to manage time intervals.
  • You must ensure that you are at the beginning of your tree (at the cluster level).

Procedure

  1. From the cluster management console Dashboard, select Resources > Resource Planning (Multidimensional) > Resource Plan.

A list of multidimensional resource plan displays.

  2. Select the multidimensional resource plan for which you want to add the time interval.
  3. Click Plan Details.
  4. Select Time interval > Insert a time interval.
  5. Specify a start time and an end time.

By default, settings for a new time interval are inherited from an existing one.

  6. Click Insert.
  7. Select a consumer for which you want to apply this change.
  8. Click Apply.

The new time interval displays in your resource plan for the selected multidimensional resource group.
