Cluster and application participation in workload placement
A multicluster
administrator, or a user with the SMC_CLUSTER_CONTROL permission determines and manages
which clusters (and optionally, the applications) can participate in workload placement.
Additionally, you can also set cluster configuration details and remove clusters from
participation.
Determining the clusters and applications participating in workload placement
A multicluster administrator, or a user with the SMC_CLUSTER_VIEW or SMC_CLUSTER_CONTROL permission can view a list of clusters currently participating in workload placement, and view the applications within the cluster that are also participating.
Enabling clusters and applications to participate in workload placement
A multicluster administrator, or a user with the SMC_CLUSTER_CONTROL permission can enable clusters to participate in workload placement from a list of clusters waiting to join workload placement. Additionally, the cluster administrator can indicate the applications within the cluster that should also participate. A multicluster user with the SMC_APP_CONTROL permission can enable applications for workload placement.
Disabling clusters and applications from workload placement
A multicluster administrator, or a user with the SMC_CLUSTER_CONTROL permission can remove clusters from participation in workload placement. Once you remove a cluster, the applications in the cluster no longer participate. A multicluster user with SMC_APP_CONTROL permission can disable applications from participation in workload placement.
