Retrieving logs for an application

Retrieve logs for an application.

Before you begin

You must configure log location and naming before you can download logs for applications.

Procedure

  1. From the cluster management console Dashboard, select Common Tasks > Symphony Workload.
  2. Optional: If you want to filter applications by consumer, from the Consumer list, select the leaf consumer where your application is registered.
  3. Select the application.
  4. Click Retrieve Logs.

    The log properties and log retrieval parameters display.

  5. Select the logs you want from this host and click Retrieve Log List.
  6. Specify the volume of data to retrieve, either as a complete log of all instances or the last number of lines.
  7. If you selected last number of lines, enter the number of lines you want retrieved. The number of lines is counted from the latest event back through the log to the limit you specify.
  8. Click the log file name.
  9. Open the log file immediately or save the log file locally and open with a text editor.

Results

You have retrieved application logs. Logs are retrieved as the execution user associated with the application's consumer.
