Kerberos authentication for MapReduce jobs

Kerberos is a network authentication protocol which ensures that hosts communicating over a network prove their identity in a secure manner. As a cluster administrator, you can configure Kerberos-based authentication within the MapReduce framework to authenticate users and enforce access rules. Use Kerberos for authentication to HDFS (file storage) and MapReduce job submission (data processing). With Kerberos, you can leverage the benefits of strong authentication to avoid malicious impersonation and better authorization to control application and data access. IBM® Spectrum Symphony with Kerberos is supported on Linux®.
