What operating system prerequisites are required to start the Elastic Stack services?
IBM® Spectrum Symphony Explorer reports require the Elastic Stack management service and various Elasticsearch services to be started. Refer to Installing on a Linux management host or Installing to a shared environment for details on the Linux requirements for these services. Refer to System services for details about these services.
If these services fail to start because you have not configured the operating system
prerequisites, these services will be in ERROR state, as will other dependent services. Here is an
example output of these services failing to
start:
elk-ela* ERROR 338 /Managem*Manage*yhr66vm 1 1 FINISH 1337
elk-man* INIT /Managem*Manage*
elk-ela* ALLOCAT* 347 /Managem*Manage*yhr66vm 1 1 FINISH 1339
Explorer INIT /Managem*Manage*
elk-ela* ALLOCAT* 349 /Managem*Manage*yhr66vm 1 1 FINISH 1338
Additionally, PEM will report
Job monitor
errors, as Elasticsearch uses this the Job
monitor
