Mixed cluster requirements

When you plan a cluster that includes a mix of operating systems, you must take into account certain considerations.

Cluster administrator account
Clusters require a cluster administrator user account.
Installation directory
The installation directory, where the IBM Spectrum Symphony binaries are installed on a host, must have the same name on all hosts of the same operating system.
Consistent configuration on all hosts
When installing a mixed cluster, make sure that you use the same configuration for the following settings in all hosts on each operating system.
Workload execution account
For a consumer to execute work on Linux and Windows hosts, you need one Linux execution user account and one Windows execution user account with the same user name.
Execution user accounts for consumers
Consumers installed with IBM Spectrum Symphony are configured to use the cluster administrator account as the execution user. Normally, you should not edit any of these consumers.
