Determining installed and active software components

Once you have installed or upgraded IBM® Spectrum Symphony, you can use the Installed and Active Software Components page within the cluster management console to review the software components and versions of IBM Spectrum Symphony installed. Additionally, this page also shows the active version of each software component installed.

About this task

In a multiple product environment with IBM Spectrum Conductor or IBM Spectrum LSF®, information about those installation packages and active versions also show on this page.

This page is available with IBM Spectrum Symphony; it is not supported for IBM Spectrum Symphony Developer Edition, client, or multicluster installations.

Use this page in a various installing or upgrading scenarios. For example:
  • If you are performing a rolling upgrading of your IBM Spectrum Symphony cluster, this page is helpful to view the progress after upgrading each host.
  • In a multiple product environment with other IBM Spectrum Computing family products, you may have multiple versions of the same software components on your host. Use this page to see which version is the active one. For example, EGO is included with both IBM Spectrum Symphony and IBM Spectrum Conductor; use this page to see the active EGO version for your cluster.
  • After you have installed IBM Spectrum Symphony, use this page to verify that you have successfully installed the software components and versions required.

Procedure

  1. From the cluster management console, select System & Services > Software Components.
  2. Review a summary of the software components installed on the cluster:
    • The Software packages installed in the cluster field lists all the IBM Spectrum Symphony software component packages installed. In a multiple product environment, those packages are also listed.
    • The Active EGO version and Active SOAM version fields show the installed versions of EGO and SOAM that the cluster is currently using. In a multiple product environment, those packages are also listed.
  3. Review details about the installed and active software components on each host within the cluster. A table lists the software names, versions, and applicable fixes applied for each host.

Refer to the Active software_name column within this table to see the active version of each software component installed.

Refer to the List of fixes column to see fixes applied to the software.

  4. Optionally, you can customize your view:
    • To see only certain columns in this table, click Settings, select the columns you want to display, and then click OK.
    • To see only information for a specific search query (for example, information only for a host called ABC), then click the filter icon (Filter icon) in the corresponding column header (for example, in the Host Name column), provide a value (such as ABC), and click Apply. Only information for that particular search query shows.
