Registering a new application

Before you begin

You must create at least one consumer, and deploy the service package to the consumer before you can register an application.

About this task

You can register more than one application per consumer but you can have only one enabled application per consumer at any given time.

You can only register an application at a leaf consumer (a consumer that has no sub-consumers).

Tip: Use the Add/Remove Application wizard, which is a tool that walks you through all the steps required to successfully add an application to your cluster. Access the wizard from Common Tasks in the Dashboard, or from the Symphony Workload page, Workload > Symphony > Application Profiles.

Procedure

  1. Click Common Tasks > Add and Remove Symphony Applications.

    The Add/Remove Application Tool displays.

  2. Select Add a new application. Click Continue.
  3. Select Use existing profile and add application - wizard.
  4. Click Browse and navigate to an existing application profile. Click Continue.
  5. Click Browse and navigate to the service package for this application. Click Continue.
  6. Verify the application profile details. Click Confirm.
    Note: If the version specified in the profile is not present in the cluster , the editor will set the version of the imported application profile to always run on the latest version.

    The application is now registered and your client can submit workload to it.
