Bursting to the cloud with host factory
The host factory framework for cloud bursting leverages the on-demand capabilities of cloud infrastructure for your cluster. With host factory, you can seamlessly extend your cluster infrastructure to include compute hosts from the cloud to handle the demands of excess workload. Your cluster dynamically grows or shrinks based on the resource demands of applications that run in the cluster.
Host factory is
available only with IBM® Spectrum Symphony Advanced Edition on the following operating systems:
- Linux® and Linux on POWER® (see Linux support).
- Windows (see Windows support).
Host factory can provision compute hosts from cloud service providers Amazon Web Services (AWS), IBM Cloud (previously SoftLayer®), and Microsoft Azure.
