Removing a host from management candidate list

About this task

You can remove a host from the management candidate list so that it can no longer be the management host should failover occur. You can choose to either keep it as part of the cluster or remove it.

Procedure

  1. Shut down the current LIM:

    limshutdown host_name

If the host was the current management host, failover occurs.

  2. In lsf.conf, remove the host name from LSF_MASTER_LIST.
  3. Run lsadmin reconfig for the remaining management candidates.
  4. If the host you removed as a management candidate still belongs to the cluster, start up the LIM again:

    limstartup host_name
