RTM License Project Graphs

What do these graph templates show?

These graph templates are intended to be used on clusters running License Scheduler, an optional add-on to LSF. License Scheduler is used to apply policies to how FLEXlm managed licenses are shared between users, groups and clusters. By monitoring resource use and jobs based on license projects, organizations can allocate expensive software licenses more effectively to better meet the needs of the business.

More information about license scheduler is available at the link below.

If you don’t have License Scheduler installed, you can ignore this series of graphs.

License projects are submitted at job submission time using the syntax bsub –Lp license_projectname and sharing policies are expressed based on license project identifiers.

How the graph templates in this collection are useful

Viewing information by license project yields information about how licensed software applications are behaving on the cluster and whether expressed sharing policies for licenses are achieving the desired results. This can be used to fine tune scheduling parameters to use resources more efficiently. It can also help determine whether the license share allocations and ownership definitions need to be adjusted between groups contending for license features.
