What does the error "Spine Timed Out While Processing Hosts Internal" mean?

I received the error "Spine Timed Out While Processing Hosts Internal". What should I do?

About this task

  • Check the time of your polling runs. Console > Configuration > Settings > Poller You can also see the polling times from the Clog tab by searching for keyword "SYSTEM STATS". If they are close to 300 seconds, your Spine poller is not completing in time.
  • Check your Spine parametersConsole > Configuration > Settings > Poller. Try tuning the parameters to reduce the polling times
  • Go to the Console >> Management >> Devices page. Check how many graphs you are creating for each cluster summary device. Filter the results using Type=Grid Summary. If you are seeing more than 10,000 graphs for one of your clusters, this could be causing the poller timeout problem. Contact IBM support for suggestions how to reduce number of graphs associated with each cluster.
