FLEXlm License - Feature Use

This report displays data that is extracted from the FLEXlm server for each license server and license feature. Metrics that are tracked include:
  • licenses in use
  • licenses reserved
  • queued requests
  • maximum licenses available
  • maximum licenses in use
The time scale of the reports varies based on the time scale that is selected in IBM Spectrum LSF RTM.

The following example displays a feature that is called ego_base served from the FLEXlm license server Markham LSF Lic. This report is showing that while 8000 license features are available, 868 were consistently in use over a selected 3-day period.

Figure 1. FLEXlm License - Feature Use

This chart allows users to determine whether license supply is sufficient to meet demand and to determine whether they might be over-provisioned at particular times. Queued requests can indicate a shortage of licenses, and if licenses in use are always below the number of licenses available it suggests an over-supply of this license feature or another resources constraint that is preventing these jobs from running.
