Configuring a threshold alert

Create a threshold for triggering an alert.

Procedure

  1. Go toConsole > Management > Thresholds.
  2. Click the + button.
  3. Select a Create Type, from a template or not from a template.
  4. If you select a non-template threshold:
    1. Select a Device.
    2. Select a Graph to use for the threshold.
    3. Select a Data Source for the threshold.
    4. Click Create.
  5. If you select a template for threshold:
    1. Select a Threshold Template.
    2. Select a Graph Template.
    3. Select a Device.
    4. Click Create.

Results

If threshold conditions are met, the Event Triggering sections can configure threshold event triggering, which specifies actions (commands, shell scripts, or host-level actions) to take.

  • High Threshold: If the threshold is breached because the data source exceeds this value, the threshold triggers the specified action.
  • Low Threshold: If the threshold is breached because the data source drops below this value, the threshold triggers the specified action.
  • Breach Duration: If the threshold is breached, then returns to normal, the threshold triggers the specified action.
