Syslog is an industry standard for logging system messages. It is used by all Linux and
UNIX distributions. Use Syslogs to view log file entries for IBM® Spectrum LSF
RTM .
Setting up syslog on a cluster
Syslog messages and SNMP Traps are important for normal operation of your cluster. Syslog messages include a priority (such as alert, critical, error, and warning), facility (such as cron, auth, authpriv, mail, and syslog), the logger, and a message. The system adds a timestamp of when the message occurred. If you configure Syslog and SNMP trap properly, then you can view logs in one file.
