Verifying that a probe is running for a resource
Verify that a probe is running for a resource to ensure that IBM Spectrum Control is collecting asset and status information about the resource.
About this task
To verify that a probe is running for a resource, use the resource list page in the web-based GUI.
Procedure

From the menu bar, go to a resource list page for a resource type.
For example, to verify that a probe is running for a storage system, go to . and select the type of storage system you want to monitor
- Locate the resource that you want to check.
- View the Probe Status column. A value of Successful or Running indicates that the probe is collecting asset and status information about the resource. The Last Successful Probe column shows the most recent date and time when the probe successfully collected data.
- Optional: If the Probe Status column shows a status of Failed or Warning, right-click the resource and click to view the messages in the log file.
- Optional: If the Probe Status column shows a status of Never probed, right-click the resource and click to schedule a probe for the resource.
