Migrating reports to IBM Cognos Analytics during upgrade

If you plan to continue using IBM® Cognos for reports with IBM Spectrum Control, you must install IBM® Cognos® Analytics 11.09 or later (up to and including 11.1.4) and migrate your reports. If you do not have custom report content, you can skip the migration procedures.

Important:
  • Currently, Cognos Analytics does not support Db2 11.5, so if you plan on using Cognos Analytics, we strongly suggest using Db2 11.1.x for IBM Spectrum Control to avoid problems with report integration.

To avoid these potential problems, use the Db2 11.1 parts listed at https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/6205756. Review the supported platforms matrix to ensure all products you plan to install on the server support the same level of Db2.

  • You no longer need to install Jazz® for Service Management and Tivoli® Common Reporting with the latest version of IBM Spectrum Control to run reports.

The migration procedures assume that you are going to use Db2 for the Cognos® Analytics content store. It is not required that the Cognos Analytics content store use Db2. Cognos Analytics supports other database products for the content store.

The IBM Spectrum Control database repository uses Db2. If you do not use Db2 for the content store, you still need to copy the Db2 JDBC driver files into the Cognos Analytics installation location and link the 32-Bit Db2 library file (Linux and AIX only) in order for Cognos Analytics to connect to the IBM Spectrum Control database repository.
