System requirements for using IBM LTFS Tools on a Windows system

System requirements for using IBM® LTFS Tools with IBM Spectrum Archive™ Library Edition on a Windows system.

The following hardware, operating systems, and software are required in order to use IBM LTFS Tools:

Supported operating systems:
  • Windows Server 2012 (64-bit)
  • Windows Server 2012 R2 (64-bit)
Supported tape drives and media:
  • IBM TS1140 tape drive and 3592 media (JB, JC, and JK cartridges)
  • IBM LTO Ultrium 5 tape drive (TS2250 and TS2350) and LTO 5 tape media
  • IBM LTO Ultrium 6 (TS2260 and TS2360) and LTO 6 tape media
  • LTO Ultrium 7 tape drive (TS2270) and LTO 7 tape media
Note: The LTFS Tools require LTFS-formatted media using IBM Spectrum Archive Library Edition 2.1.2 or later.
Required software:
  • IBM Spectrum Archive Library Edition 2.1.2 or later
