Troubleshooting: Preparing the environment

If you run into difficulties preparing your environment for the installation or running the installation prerequisite checker for IBM® Sovereign Core, use this information to help you troubleshoot and fix the issue.

Secrets or pull keys

Before you install IBM Sovereign Core, ensure you have the required entitlement keys. To get the entitlement keys, follow the steps in Getting an entitlement key, and Getting a Red Hat entitlement key.

Installation fails because of SSH key missing
Before you install IBM Sovereign Core on the Landing Zone to deploy across your infrastructure, you must configure the clusters with credentials for the admin user on each machine.
UEFI mode not available
All bare metal machines must be updated with Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) specifications to ensure firmware performance. UEFI is a prerequisite for the installation of IBM Sovereign Core on bare metal machines in the infrastructure. To see the full list of prerequisites, see Prerequisite checklist.
Redfish version compatibility
Redfish is a standard that enables Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to interact with dispersed systems through standard protocols such as HTTP or Restful API. Redfish must be enabled on the bare metal machines where IBM Sovereign Core is installed. To see the full list of prerequisites, see Prerequisite checklist.
