The platform account is a special tenant account that is created automatically when you install IBM® Sovereign Core. Use the account to manage infrastructure clusters and provision resources that support various services, such as AI inference or Virtual machine, on the platform.
The platform account maintains access to all services in the catalog regardless of service visibility settings and the account cannot be deleted.
- The initial IBM Sovereign Core platform setup must be completed.
- During the installation process, the system owner must assign the platform account owner role to you. You then receive an email from the system owner with a URL and login credentials to access the platform account.

Access the platform account UI by navigating to the URL provided in your welcome email and use the provided credentials to log in to the account.

Optional: You can update or change the platform account owner credentials in the following ways:
- Contact your system owner who has access to the platform configuration settings to change the platform account owner.
- If your organization uses a custom identity provider (IdP) to manage credentials, update the credentials in the IdP system.

Log in to the IBM Sovereign Core system account. The platform account appears in the list of tenants on the home page with the ID
platform. You can view details such as the platform account access URL and manage account resources.

The platform account must have a storage class definition defined so you can setup services such as the Cluster service. The storage class defines the storage type and how persistent storage is dynamically provisioned for clusters. Configure the storage class for all clusters that are published to the platform account's catalog to use. Click Edit storage class and enter the storage class configuration for the platform account and save the changes.
What to do next
