Manage workspaces and deploy service instances that the system owner publishes to the catalog in the account.
Before you begin
- This task can be completed by the following users in IBM® Sovereign Core:
- The platform account owner
- The Workspace editor in a tenant account
- Make sure the system owner or editor has published the service to the catalog in the tenant account.
About this task
Choose from a catalog of preconfigured services, or deploy a custom service in the workspace.
Procedure
-
From the account home page, create a new workspace or click an existing workspace name to open the workspace view and select the Catalog tab.
-
The catalog contains the list of prebuilt services available for you to deploy in the workspace. Click Deploy to deploy an instance of the service. You can deploy several instances of a service.
Some services might require additional configuration steps before they are deployed. You can also deploy a custom service.
Note: Service deployment can take a few hours to complete.
-
After you deploy a service instance, you are automatically assigned the Service owner role for the instance. To view and edit the details of a service instance, select the instance from the Overview tab in the workspace view.
Remember: Deleting a service instance is permanent. Make sure to back up your data before deleting an instance.
What to do next
The deployed service instances are ready to use and can be accessed by users based on the permissions assigned to them. For details about the services you can provision in IBM Sovereign Core, see Services catalog.
