Configuring required variables

To install IBM® Sovereign Core you must provide system-specific configuration settings that are required to install, run and deploy the product in your environment. To help to ensure you have the settings required, you have a choice to run the preinstallation tool or edit the files directly. The configuration files are included in the software package along with example files.

Before you begin

The directory where you downloaded and unpackaged the software contained in config.tar.gz, contains sample files with guidance and sample entries where relevant.

About this task

Before you install the product, you must provide configuration settings in the following files.

template.env
global.yaml
certificates.yaml
cloud_infra.yaml
odf.yaml

Procedure

Provide the settings for your environment and for the deployment of IBM Sovereign Core in that environment. Choose one of these methods.
- Run the preinstallation tool. For the steps to do this see, Running the IBM Sovereign Core preinstallation tool.
- Or, edit and add the configuration settings directly into the configuration files.
Save and close the configuration files, and proceed to the installation procedure.
