Getting started with IBM Sovereign Core
Whether you are a system owner or tenant owner, you can quickly onboard with IBM® Sovereign Core by using built-in provisioning through automated steps that help you build your infrastructure. With IBM Sovereign Core, you can define the policies and regulations specific to your sovereign region. You can also manage and maintain your compliance definitions to align with local geographical regulations without reliance on external providers.
Important: Before you start with IBM Sovereign Core, ensure that all required hardware and software prerequisites are in place. If the prerequisites are not met, the installation script will fail.
To get started with IBM Sovereign Core as a system owner, complete the following steps:
- Prepare your landing zone machine for installation.
- Download and install IBM Sovereign Core.
- Log in to IBM Sovereign Core with your username and password.
- Before you create tenants, you must publish a service for those tenant accounts and users. Open the IBM Sovereign Core Catalog from the navigation, and select a service that you want your tenant owners and users to use, such as Cluster service.
- Create tenant owner accounts for users. Creating tenants invites tenant owners by using their email addresses to notify them of their access and account. System owners assign new tenant owners by using the Create tenant process on the IBM Sovereign Core home page.
- As a system owner creating tenants, it is important to ensure that you set storage, give a meaningful name with a description, and add an accurate email address.
- Review your home page and Infrastructure page to view more details about the tenants you created. Optionally drill in for more details, so that you can manage capacity and take any actions to avoid risks with tenant usage overloading.
Tenant account owners: To get started with IBM Sovereign Core as an tenant account owner, complete the following steps.
- Locate the email that was sent to you by the IBM Sovereign Core system owner. This gives you details about your new account.
- Click Console in the email to launch the log in screen.
- On your first log in, you must enter your email address and click Forgot password to change to a new password.
- You are sent an authentication code that you must enter, and follow the multifactor authentication steps to log in with your new password.
- Create a new workspace in the tenant account. For instructions, see Tenant account getting started.
