Installing the Helm command-line interface

Install the Helm command-line interface on the workstation from which you are running the installation to make it easier to debug installation issues.

User Why you need the Helm CLI
Cluster administrator Debug issues with the following commands:
  • case-download (with the --cluster_resources option)
  • apply-scheduler
  • setup-control-center
Instance administrator Debug issues with the following commands:
  • install-components
  • uninstall-components
When do you need to complete this task?

This task is optional but recommended.

Repeat as needed You must complete this task on any workstation from which you plan to run the preceding commands.

About this task

Installing the Helm CLI makes it easier to debug issues with IBM Software Hub CLI commands that rely on Helm.

If you don't install the Helm CLI on the client workstation, you must debug issues by executing into the olm-utils-v4 container.

The following versions of Helm are supported:
  • 3.19
  • 3.20
