Installing and configuring the software for the OpenShift API for Data Protection backup and restore utility

When do you need to complete this task?

Complete this task if you plan to use the OpenShift API for Data Protection backup and restore utility to back up your IBM Software Hub.

Installing and configuring OpenShift API for Data Protection by using the IBM Software Hub command-line interface This method is recommended for most users.
Manually installing and configuring the OpenShift API for Data Protection backup and restore utility You must use this method if one of the following statements applies to your environment:
  • The OADP operator is already installed on your cluster.
  • You use object storage that is not S3-compatible.
  • You use object storage that does not use an S3 style path.
Installing and configuring the OpenShift API for Data Protection backup and restore utility on ROSA with STS You must use this method if your are installing IBM Software Hub on a cluster that uses the AWS Security Token Service (STS).
