Archiving data from the Data Gate dashboard

You can archive the data in Db2 for z/OS table partitions the dashboard of a Data Gate instance.

Procedure

  1. Make sure that the Cloud Pak for Data perspective is selected. If necessary, click Perspective icon to change the perspective.
  2. Under My instances, click the name of the instance that you want to edit.
  3. Click Open instance.
  4. Click the Table tab.
  5. Select the tables you want to archive from (select the check boxes in the first column on the left of the table list).
  6. On the header of the table list, click Archive button.
  7. In the Archive partition window, you can select the partitions to be archived by choosing one of the following methods:
    • Select Move all partitions up to and including the following limit key.

      After you select this checkbox, the Choose an option drop-down list on the right allows you to select a limit key. A limit key is the upper end of a range that is defined by a partitioning key. The drop-down list will be empty if no partitioning key is found for the selected tables.

      Select a limit key to select all partitions that fall within the defined limit, but do not exceed it.

    • Select the check boxes in front of the partition names to select partitions manually.
  8. Click Continue.
  9. Check the summary that is displayed. If the selection is correct, click Archive.
