Installing IBM Software Hub Control Center

IBM Software Hub Control Center (Control Center) is an optional component that helps you manage resource use across multiple instances of IBM Software Hub that are deployed on the same cluster.

Who needs to complete this task?

Cluster administrator A cluster administrator must install Control Center.

When do you need to complete this task?

Control Center is an optional component. However, it is strongly recommended that you install Control Center if you plan to install multiple instances of IBM Software Hub on the same cluster.

One-time setup Control Center is installed exactly once on a cluster.

Before you begin

Before you install Control Center, decide which of the following configurations you will use:
  • Install Control Center on the same cluster as the instances of IBM Software Hub that you want to monitor.
  • Install Control Center on a different cluster from the instances of IBM Software Hub that you want to monitor.

This task assumes that the following prerequisites are met:

Prerequisite Where to find more information
You have a cluster where you plan to install Control Center. If you plan to install Control Center on a different cluster and this task is not complete, see Installing Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform for IBM Software Hub.
A certificate manager is installed on the cluster where you plan to install Control Center. If you plan to install Control Center on a different cluster and this task is not complete, see Installing the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform cert-manager Operator.
Storage is configured on the cluster where you plan to install Control Center. If you plan to install Control Center on a different cluster and this task is not complete, see Installing persistent storage for IBM Software Hub.
The workstation from which you will install Control Center has the following command-line interfaces:
  • IBM Software Hub CLI: cpd-cli
  • OpenShift CLI: oc

If your cluster is in a restricted network, you have the olm-utils-v4 on the workstation from which you will install Control Center.
