Db2 Data Management Console pods

The Db2 Data Management Console service has two main pods: addon-ui and addon-api.

The addon-ui pod provides an interface for the user to provision the Db2 Data Management Console service instance, view the service instance details, and manage user access.

The addon-api pod provides the engine for auto discovering and adding databases ( Db2 Database, Db2 Warehouse, Db2 Big SQL, and Data Virtualization) to Db2 Data Management Console.

The Db2 Data Management Console service instance has the following ibm-dmc pods:
  • The redis pod manages message queue and memory cache.
  • The nginx pod provides the user interface.
  • The dbapi pod provides base function like connection management.
  • The runsql pod provides run SQL statements and scripts against the database.
  • The admin pod enables users to explore integrated databases and also allows user to load data from local file system, Amazon S3, and IBM Cloud® Object Storage.
  • The explain pod provides visual explain function and tuning function for both single SQL statement and query workloads.
  • The monitor pod enables users to monitor the integrated databases, which include the summary page, database, statement, locking, applications, throughput, I/O, and storage metrics. It also provides report function.
  • The job scheduler pod enables user to create and schedule jobs.
  • The registry manager pod provides functions like monitoring and connection scheduling.
