Data Gate components

The following major components make up IBM Data Gate for z/OS.

  • Db2 for z/OS source database
  • Data Gate stored procedures, which run on IBM Z
  • IBM Cloud Pak for Data:
    • IBM Db2 or IBM Db2 Warehouse service for the target database. Note that the IBM Db2 Warehouse service for the target database is not needed if the target database is remote.
    • Data Gate service
  • A secure TCP/IP network connection between the source Db2 for z/OS database and the Data Gate service on Cloud Pak for Data
