Getting started with Data Gate
Data Gate provides an end-to-end solution to ensure data is synchronized for hybrid cloud, analytics, and AI initiatives with reduced cost and effort.
For example, you can use Data
Gate to:
- Efficiently, cost effectively, and securely deliver the most current, transactionally consistent systems of record to cloud-based applications
- Streamline data fabric data source integration
- Increase Db2 efficiency
Checking whether the service is installed
An administrator must install Data Gate.
To check whether the service is installed:
- From the navigation menu, select .
- Search for Data Gate.
If the service is installed and ready to use, the tile in the catalog shows Ready to use.
If the service is installed but no service instances have been created, the tile in the catalog shows Ready to provision.
Important: Even if the service is Ready to use, you must be added
to a service instance to use the service.

Cloud Pak for Data This service is available from the IBM Cloud Pak for Data experience.
