Getting started with Data Privacy
With Data Privacy, you can create and run masking flows. When you use data protection rules to mask data, you can create masking flows to permanently mask data assets that are copies of data assets in a governed catalog. Masking flows are useful if you want to download masked data or you're provisioning data.
Data protection rules are used to mask data. You must have IBM Knowledge Catalog installed to create data protection rules.
- Managing rule settings streamline how the data protection rules that are created behave and protect data consistently.
- Planning to protect data with rules to enforce data protection rules in governed catalogs or by a deep enforcement solution.
- Configure protection solutions for data source definitions. A protection solution is a method of enforcing the data protection rules that are either enforced in governed catalogs or by a deep enforcement solution. To configure the platform with a deep enforcement solution, you can create a data source definition to set the data source type. The data source type determines which types of connections the data source definition can be associated with and your available protection solution options.
