Who needs to complete this task?
Cluster administrator A cluster administrator or storage administrator must set up set up persistent storage on the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform cluster.
When do you need to complete this task?

You must ensure that your persistent storage is configured before you install IBM Software Hub.

One-time setup Complete this task once per cluster where you plan to install IBM Software Hub.

Procedure

Complete the appropriate task to configure your persistent storage:
Storage Setup
OpenShift Data Foundation The storage classes that are required to install IBM Software Hub are created by default. However, you must create a volume snapshot storage class to back up IBM Software Hub.

For more information, see Setting up OpenShift Data Foundation storage.

IBM Fusion Data Foundation The storage classes that are required to install IBM Software Hub are created by default. However, you must create a volume snapshot storage class to back up IBM Software Hub.

For more information, see Setting up IBM Fusion Data Foundation storage.

IBM Fusion Global Data Platform
IBM Fusion
To set up IBM Fusion Global Data Platform, you must:
  • Create the storage classes that are required to install IBM Software Hub
  • Create the volume snapshot storage class to back up IBM Software Hub

For more information, see Setting up IBM Fusion Global Data Platform or IBM Storage Scale Container Native storage

IBM Fusion HCI System
No additional setup is required. The storage classes that are required to install and back up IBM Software Hub are created by default.

You are ready to complete Creating custom security context constraints for services.

IBM Storage Scale Container Native To set up IBM Storage Scale Container Native, you must:
  • Create the storage classes that are required to install IBM Software Hub
  • Create the volume snapshot storage class to back up IBM Software Hub

For more information, see Setting up IBM Fusion Global Data Platform or IBM Storage Scale Container Native storage

Portworx To set up Portworx, you must:
  • Create the storage classes that are required to install IBM Software Hub
  • Create the volume snapshot storage class to back up IBM Software Hub

For more information, see Creating Portworx storage classes.

NFS To set up NFS, you must:
  • Set up dynamic storage provisioning
  • Configure your NFS

For more information, see Setting up NFS storage.

Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS) No additional set up is required.

You are ready to complete Creating custom security context constraints for services.

Amazon Elastic File System (EFS) To set up EFS, you must set up dynamic storage provisioning. For more information, see Setting up Amazon Elastic File System.
NetApp Trident To set up NetApp Trident, you must:
  • Create the storage classes that are required to install IBM Software Hub
  • Create the volume snapshot storage class to back up IBM Software Hub

For more information, see Setting up NetApp Trident.

Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP The storage classes that are required to install IBM Software Hub are created by default. However, you must create a volume snapshot storage class to back up IBM Software Hub.

For more information, see Setting up Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP.

Nutanix To set up Nutanix, you must:
  • Create the storage classes that are required to install IBM Software Hub
  • Create the volume snapshot storage class to back up IBM Software Hub

For more information, see Setting up Nutanix.
