Configuring Db2 instance connection of the Cognos Analytics service instance

A proper configuration of Db2 instance connection is vital for problem-free provisioning and using of a Cognos Analytics service instance.
To ensure that your Cognos Analytics service instance connects to the Db2 instance, verify that the connection has the following parameters:
  • the port number 50000 for a non-SSL connection and 50001 for an SSL connection.
  • the hostname c-<deployment_id>-db2u.<cpd_instance_project>.svc.cluster.local

A change of the port number might prevent the Cognos Analytics service instance from starting. For example, a restore of the instance from a backup changes the port number, although does not change the hostname.
