Upgrading an instance of IBM Software Hub (Upgrading from Version 5.2 to Version 5.4)

To upgrade an instance of IBM Software Hub, you must update the operators and operands (custom resources) that are associated with the instance.

Who needs to complete this task?

Instance administrator An instance administrator can complete this task.

When do you need to complete this task?

Repeat as needed If you have multiple instances of IBM Software Hub on the cluster, repeat the appropriate tasks for each instance that you plan to upgrade.

Before you begin

The following tasks must be completed before you upgrade an instance of IBM Software Hub:

  1. Collecting information required to upgrade IBM Software Hub (Upgrading from Version 5.2 to Version 5.4)
  2. Updating client workstations (Upgrading from Version 5.2 to Version 5.4)
  3. Preparing to run IBM Software Hub upgrade commands in a restricted network (Upgrading from Version 5.2 to Version 5.4)
    Note: This task is required only if you are running the upgrade in a restricted network.
  4. Preparing to run IBM Software Hub upgrades from a private container registry (Upgrading from Version 5.2 to Version 5.4)
    Note: This task is required only if you pull images from a private container registry.
  5. Preparing your cluster for a new version of IBM Software Hub (Upgrading from Version 5.2 to Version 5.4)
  6. Preparing to upgrade an instance of IBM Software Hub (Upgrading from Version 5.2 to Version 5.4)
