Getting started with MongoDB

With MongoDB, you can create highly performant, highly available databases with automatic scaling in your IBM Software Hub cluster so that you can govern the data and use it for in-depth analysis.

Checking whether the service is installed

An administrator must install MongoDB.

To check whether the service is installed:

  1. From the navigation menu, select Services > Services catalog.
  2. Search for MongoDB.

If the service is installed and ready to use, the tile in the catalog shows Ready to use.

If the service is installed but no service instances have been created, the tile in the catalog shows Ready to provision.

Important: Even if the service is Ready to use, you must be added to a service instance to use the service.

Accessing the service

Cloud Pak for Data This service is available from the IBM Cloud Pak® for Data experience.

Pop-out MongoDB is a pop-out service. You can access the service from the Service > Service instances page.
Restriction: The Service > Service instances page is not available in the IBM Software Hub experience. If you are logged in as an IBM Software Hub administrator, you must switch to a different experience before you can access the page.
