Migrating data from IBM InfoSphere Information Server to IBM Cloud Pak for Data (IBM Knowledge Catalog)
If you use IBM InfoSphere Information Server and want to start using IBM Cloud Pak for Data, you can migrate your data.
Product versions supported for migration
You can export data from IBM InfoSphere Information Server version 11.7.1.4 SP2 or later and import this data to a fresh installation of IBM Cloud Pak for Data with IBM Knowledge Catalog or IBM Knowledge Catalog Premium.

- Make sure that your installation is at version 11.7.1.4 SP2 or at version 11.7.1.5. For installation instructions, see the following support documents:

- Yes: Proceed to the next step.
- No: Postpone the migration and remove the migration patches.

To see what data exactly will be migrated and to validate the export process, run the export and check the export logs. For more information, see Exporting the data.
- If the export was successful, transfer the exported data to the IBM Cloud Pak for Data system and proceed with the next step. For more information, see Transferring the exported data.
- If the export was not successful, postpone the migration and remove the migration-related patches.
