User Credentials: Specifying user credentials to access automation domains
Use the User Credentials tab to configure the user credentials used by functional user. The automation framework uses these credentials to authenticate itself.
The characters that are used for all user IDs entered on this tab are limited to the following ASCII characters: A–Z, a-z, 0–9, and _ (underscore).
- Generic Credentials for Accessing Automation Domains
- Generic user ID for automation domains
- Backend user ID used by the IBM Z Automation Web Console functional user to access all
automation domains for which no specific credentials are defined below.
- For System Automation domains, this is a z/OS user ID.
- For Universal Automation Adapter domains, this is a system user ID of the server hosting the Universal Automation Adapter.
- Generic password for automation domains
- The generic user ID’s password for accessing all automation domains. This field is optional for you. You can leave it blank if you want to log in to automation domains using the functional user ID without providing a password.
- Confirm Generic password for automation domains
- Identical value as specified in the password field to confirm password correctness.
- Specific Credentials for Accessing Automation DomainsSpecific automation domain user credentials can be defined explicitly for each automation domain that is monitored by the IBM Z Automation Web Console server. The automation domain list shows the name and user ID of each domain for which specific access credentials are currently defined.
- Click Add new to create a new credential:
- In the new row, specify the following parameters:
- Domain Name
- The name of the new domain. Ensure that this domain name is unique in the set of all automation domains you are working with. The maximum length of the domain name is 64 characters.
- User ID
- The user ID that is used by the IBM Z Automation Web Console server to access the new domain.
- Password
- The password that is used by the IBM Z Automation Web Console server to access the new domain. This field is optional for you. You can leave it blank if you want to log in to the automation domain using the user ID without providing a password.
- Confirm Password
- Identical value as specified in the password field to confirm password correctness.
- Click OK to save the new credential. You can click Cancel to cancel the changes.
