Using the IBM Spectrum LSF Application Center Windows Desktop Client
IBM Spectrum LSF Application Center Windows Desktop Client provides job and job flow submission, monitoring and control, automatic
data transfer of output files from the server, job status notifications, and opening files with
remote applications. In addition, this client includes an LSF client to run LSF commands. To use
IBM Spectrum LSF Application Center Windows Desktop Client, you need to install it on your desktop.
Logging in
To log in to IBM Spectrum LSF Application Center Desktop Client , you need the IBM Spectrum LSF Application Center URL, and the user name and password you use to connect to IBM Spectrum LSF Application Center through the web browser.
Enabling default settings for notifications and automatic data transfer
Select your user name to display the System Settings window to set default settings for notifications and automatic data transfer.
Submitting a job and enabling data retrieval and notifications
When you submit a job in IBM Spectrum LSF Application Center Desktop Client , you can select to be notified about your job and to automatically download job results to a local directory.
Submitting a job by selecting the input file
You can submit a job by selecting an input file on your desktop, right-clicking, and displaying the submission form. In order to do that, you need to configure it in the Applications tab.
Processing files before or after job submission
You can run remote applications and edit files that are used by jobs before you submit a job or while a job is running.
Accessing the web portal
At any time while using IBM Spectrum LSF Application Center Desktop Client , you can go and view jobs in the web portal .
Viewing job notifications
If you enabled notifications to display on the desktop when you submitted the job, you will see them as they come in, on the right-hand side of your desktop. If you did not select to display notifications on the desktop, you can still see them.
Running IBM Spectrum LSF commands
IBM Spectrum LSF Application Center Desktop Client includes the IBM Spectrum LSF client. You can run IBM Spectrum LSF commands as desired.
