Creating a submission template to enter flow input variables

You do not need to have a submission template to run a flow. You can directly submit a flow in IBM Spectrum LSF Application Center by selecting the Workload tab, selecting Definitions > Flow Definitions, selecting your flow definition, and clicking Submit. Sometimes, you might want to define a submission form for a flow definition so that users can enter input parameters without even seeing the flow chart.

Before you begin

To be able to create a submission template for a flow definition:
  • You must have IBM Spectrum LSF Application Center Administrator privileges.
  • The flow definition must be committed and published to the server as a new version.

Procedure

  1. In IBM Spectrum LSF Application Center, select Workload > Definitions > Templates, and click New > Submission Template.

The Create New Template dialog is displayed.

  2. In Template Name, enter a name for the template
  3. Select This template: Submits a job flow using an existing flow definition, and select the flow definition name for which to create the submission template.

    The default version is used.

  4. Click Create.

The new submission form window is displayed. In the Submission Form tab, fields are automatically added for the input variables that are defined in the flow. The submission script is also automatically updated in the Submission Script tab with the flow input variables.

  5. Click Publish to make your form available to other users.
  6. Define which users can see your new submission form in the System & Settings tab, by selecting Settings > Users > Roles and Permissions.
