Pickup cutoffs
Pickup cutoff is the latest time that an order can be placed for same-day pickup. It is defined at the node level. Any orders that are placed after this time are deferred to the next business day to prevent last-minute demand spikes and to help ensure operational efficiency.
Same day capacity can still be used if any is available even though the pickup is only available the next day.
Optionally, you can create pickup cutoffs to restrict order pickups to specific time windows throughout the day. For more information, see Configuring pickup cutoffs.
The Promising Calculation APIs support the pickup cutoffs. Then, Estimated Delivery Dates (EDD) consider both the lead time on the same day and the capacity if it is available on the same day.
For example, if a pickup request is made before the pickup cutoff, the earliest pickup might start on the same day, assuming that there is sufficient capacity and inventory available. However, if the request comes after the pickup cutoff, the Calculation APIs consider this and the earliest pickup time does not start on the request day. Also, on the request day, the remaining capacity might still be considered if inventory is available.
