Optimization constraints

In addition to the optimization objectives and penalties, IBM® Sterling Intelligent Promising also considers the days to deliver and Service Level Agreement (SLA) for each order to make the most optimal fulfillment decision.

When Sterling Intelligent Promising optimizes orders, the SLA days are not taken directly as-is to determine the number of days to deliver the order. Instead, the final number of days to deliver the order are considered by evaluating the following:
  • Node capacity backlog
  • Node shipping calendar
  • Node shipping cutoff time
  • Order creation date
