Managing cost-based optimization for promising
The shoppers can apply cost-based optimization for the promising as a fulfillment options by using the Order Hub UI. This enables IBM® Sterling Intelligent Promising to account for cost optimization in promising calculations.
Before you begin
- Configure cost-based optimization for promising
- Ensure that cost-based optimization for promising is configured for Sterling Intelligent Promising Standard and Sterling Intelligent Promising Premium customers, which enable this capability for the shoppers. For more information about the configuration process, see Configuring cost-based optimization for promising.
- Configure stockout and markdown avoidance
- Ensure that cost-based optimization for promising is configured, which enables Sterling Intelligent Promising to account for cost that is saved on stockouts and markdown avoidance into cost calculations. For more information about the configuration process, see Configuring cost-based optimization for promising.
On the Checkout page, select Apply cost optimization fulfillment option. This enables Sterling Intelligent Promising to optimize order fulfillment for minimizing the overall cost to serve.
You can click Explain the promise date calculation link to open the Explanation of checkout. Toggle between Standard, Express, and Next day delivery speeds. You can see how order fulfillment is optimized to minimum cost to serve based on your choice of delivery speed.
