Creating and editing location priority rules

You can create location priority rules to ensure that certain nodes or distribution groups are prioritized at the location to fulfill orders.

Before you begin

Familiarize yourself with the location priority rules. For more information, see Location priority rules.

About this task

On the Location priority rules page, you can select filters to apply from the following drop-drop lists to view a summary of the location priority rules:
  • Conditions
  • Node restrictions
  • Schedule
A table is displayed that provides the following information about existing rules:
Rule name
The name of the location priority rule.
Conditions
The conditions that are associated with the rule. Any order that matches these conditions is subject to the restrictions that are defined. For example, you might set a condition that restricts the order to a certain delivery method or item.
Priority
The location that is prioritized. For example, a store or a group or stores at a specific location.
Status
The status of the rule and whether it is active, inactive, or scheduled.
Effective start date
The date that the rule is targeted to start.
Effective end date
Optional: The date that the rule is targeted to end.

Procedure

  1. From the menu, click Promise and fulfill > Sourcing and scheduling > Location priority rule.

Creating and editing a location priority rule

  1. On the Location priority rules page, to create a new location priority rule, click Create location priority rule.
  2. In the Rule name field, enter a name for the rule and in the Rule description field, enter an optional description.
  3. To activate the rule, toggle the Rule slider to On.
  4. In the Conditions section, expand the drop-down lists to select conditions to apply to your rule.
    By default, two conditions are shown. To add another condition, click Add condition.
  5. In the Location priority section, click Priority breakdown by node to view the priorities that are created for each node.
    You can drag each priority and sort them from top to bottom. Then, click Done.
    1. On the Priority breakdown by node page, view the priorities, sourcing sequence, location, node type and distribution group for each priority 1, 2, and 3.
    2. To return to the location priority section for the rule, click Back to edit.
  6. For each priority 1, 2, and 3, click Add nodes and distribution groups to prioritize locations to fulfill orders.
  7. On the Priority - Select locations page, you can complete the following steps:
    • In the Search and Select tab, select the nodes and distribution groups to prioritize and click Save.
    • In the Review selection tab, review your sections and click Save.
  8. To edit a location priority, click the ellipsis and select one of the following options:
    • Edit nodes
    • Edit group priority
    • Delete group
  9. To add a new priority group, click Add priority group.
  10. To create a schedule for your rule, in the Schedule section, select Unrestricted or Specific dates and click Save.
    Apply start and end times to the schedule that you create.

Using location priority rules

  1. To edit, duplicate, copy, or delete a location priority rule, in the table, select the Rule name checkbox next to the rule and right-click the rule to open the drop-down with the following options:
    • Edit rule
    • Duplicate rule
    • Copy to promising rule
    • Delete rule
