IBM containers overview

IBM® containers offers a foundation for building and scaling containerized applications on Kubernetes.

Kubernetes is a Container orchestration software that enables organizations to efficiently and securely manage Container environments at scale. It provides speed and agility for quick-paced development processes, bringing savings in operational costs through Containerized architecture models.

IBM Sterling Intelligent Promising uses Containerization to simplify, manage, and automate the process of deployment. In Containerization, the application code and its dependencies are packaged into a Container. This packaging improves the application quality, and new capabilities and fixes can be delivered through a monthly continuous delivery process.

The advantage of using containers with IBM Sterling Intelligent Promising is that you can deploy and manage it on any cloud, and any platform, regardless of the provider and without compatibility issues. You can also move your application to any cloud, as containers are lightweight and portable and also scalable and secure.

The IBM Sterling Intelligent Promising images are IBM certified and offer a more simple and efficient way to deploy, manage, and scale secure enterprise-grade software across multiple environments.

The support policy for Sterling Intelligent Promising Container delivery models is same as that of Sterling Order Management System Software. For more information, see Support policy for Container delivery models.
