Node types define common node configurations and can be used to group nodes during
sourcing. The default node types that can be assigned to ship nodes are distribution center (DC),
store, and vendor. You can also create or delete custom node types based on your business
needs.
About this task
You can either create a new node type or select a node type from the list. To delete a node type,
click the delete icon corresponding to it from the list.
Note: Node types that are associated with
one or more nodes cannot be deleted. Also, the default node types "DC", "STORE", and "Vendor" cannot
be deleted.
Procedure
- From the menu, click
.
- Click Node types.
- Click Create node type.
The Create node
type modal is displayed.
- Specify a Node type and
Description.
Important: You cannot edit the
Node type value after creation but you can edit the description.
The
text that you add in the
Description field is the value that is displayed as
a Node type option when you create a node.
The custom node type is available
within the
Node type drop-down menu when you create a new node. For more
information, see
Configuring nodes.
Editing the capacity conversion factor
- To edit the capacity conversion factor, in the Node type table,
click the ellipsis and select Manage capacity conversion factor.
- In the Edit capacity conversion factor window, add the amount of
Units for the capacity conversion factor and click
Save.
You updated the capacity conversion factor.
