Managing unplanned inventory rule

You can use the Order Hub to manage your unplanned inventory. Additionally, you can also edit, delete, and duplicate safety stock rules.

Before you begin

You must enable the unplanned inventory to create or update the unplanned inventory rules. For more information, see Tenant settings for unplanned inventory consideration.

Note: If unplanned inventory is not enabled in settings, you can create and edit unplanned inventory rules but cannot be applied.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Order Hub.
  2. Select icon (Inventory) > Unplanned inventory.
  3. Click Create rule.
  4. Enter the following details:
    Field Description
    Name Enter the Name of the unplanned inventory rule.

    The rule name is a mandatory field but it is not a unique (key) identifier. The ruleId, which is the unique identifier of a rule is auto generated by create API.

    Rule description (optional) A brief description of the unplanned inventory rule. This field is optional.
    Conditions You can create following conditions for unplanned inventory rules:
    • Item ID or SKU - Select Item Id.
      Note: Select at least one node and UOM, segment, and PC are optional conditions to add.
    • Item attributes - Enter the details of item attributes for unplanned inventory rule. For example you may choose any item level attribute such as advanceNotificationTime, allowGiftWrap, or any custom item attributes.
    • Catalog category - Enter the catalog category for scheduling the unplanned inventory rule.
      Note: Select at least one node and UOM, segment, and PC are optional conditions to add.
    Unplanned inventory action This section allows the inventory allocation based on the possible future cancellations or confirmed incoming supply that enables the sales when current stock gets depleted. Enter the following details to configure the unplanned inventory rule:
    • Unplanned Lead Day: Specify Include unplanned inventory from N days.
    • Overselling: Set N = 0. The uplift applies immediately until the end of the duration.
    • Supplier Lead Contract: Set N > 0. The uplift applies N days from the availability request date until the end of the duration.
    • Unplanned Quantity Uplift: Define the amount to add for each location.
    Schedule
    • Unrestricted - Select this option to assign safety stock rule for an unlimited time.
    • Specific dates - Select this option to select the start date, end date, and time.
      Note: Start and end times use Coordinated Universal Time time zone.
  5. Toggle the On button to enable the created rule.
  6. Click Create to save the rule.
