Starting the file ingestion process

Sterling Intelligent Promising facilitates the ingestion of files that are uploaded to your IBM Cloud® Object Storage bucket. After you configure the ingestion endpoints, you can start the file ingestion process. You can use the file transfer adapter or your own custom upload implementation for IBM Cloud Object Storage to upload the data file for each mandated data feed type.

Procedure

  1. Configure the IBM Cloud Object Storage bucket and endpoint for each data feed type. For more information, see Configuring endpoints for file ingestion rules.
  2. Upload the required CSV file for each data feed type that aligns with the data format and column ordering. For more information, see Data feed types overview.
  3. If you're using the file transfer adapter, the primary action is to Upload data. Then, occasionally, when you troubleshoot for errors you might complete the following actions:
    • List
    • Read
    • Download
    • Copy
    • Delete

To help to troubleshoot any errors, see Monitoring data for file ingestion.

  4. When you transfer files from your local system, ensure that the file destination is set to the IBM Cloud Object Storage prefix that you define in the endpoint configuration. For more information, see Configuring endpoints for file ingestion rules.
