Configuring capacity categories

In IBM® Sterling Intelligent Promising, you can configure both the capacity categories and also the capacity tagging for capacity availability. Capacity categories are the units of work or tasks that are required to complete order fulfillment. Capacity tags are optional and they are used to classify the capacity category into characteristics such as delivery method, item, packing, or picking.

Before you begin

It is important to understand the capacity categories concept. For more information, see Capacity categories. Ensure that you specify the capacity categories in the Estimated Delivery Date API and the CalculatecheckoutAssigments API. For more information, see Using capacity categories for capacity availability.

Procedure

To configure the categories for capacity availability, use the Insert or update available capacity API.

Optional: You can also use this API to configure the capacity tagging.
